A mobile PvP game that tracks users’ steps, allowing them to level up and earn rewards in-game.
Tasked with creating a mobile application that addressed an issue for a target demographic, I developed Biosis: a mobile PvP game designed for users who don’t have enough time for grinding levels. To level up and strengthen their characters, players must get stronger themselves. Biosis tracks player steps and sets goals to discourage the sedentary lifestyle often associated with gaming.

Fighting against the bad habits of gamers:

In a growing digital age, approximetley 90% of Gen Z particpate in some form of digital gaming. Over 60% of gamers spend a signifcant amount of their time gaming sedentary, leading to increased musculoskeletal pain and health risks.

Players are rewarded for taking a break, not punished:

Biosis promotes physical activity of gamers by rewarding players with in-game level-ups. Stepping away from the game and outside doesn’t come at the expense of ranking up. Players are directly rewarded and punished in game for not fulfilling steps goals.

Blending technology and nature, user and character:

Early wireframe sketches. The UI aims to blend digital features with biological notes, emphasizing the symbiotic relationship between user and character. With this in mind, it was important to feature the user’s highest-ranking character on the home screen alongside step goals.
